Matt is a journalist and newsroom leader dedicated to building the next chapter of American news. A three-time Emmy Award winner with more than a decade in national newsrooms, he believes the future of journalism depends on pairing the discipline of the newsroom with the possibilities of new technology.

A Career in National News

Before joining PreciseTarget, Matt led editorial operations for NBC News Politics, helping shape the network's coverage of major political moments. Before that, as editorial director at NBC's "Meet the Press," he helped reinvent one of the longest-running shows in television history for digital audiences, expanding it into documentary film, podcasts and social platforms. His reporting has taken him across the country and around the globe — from China and Taiwan, where he interviewed the country's president for The Wall Street Journal, to Sweden where he covered shifting politics in Europe for NBC News.

Building the Newsroom of the Future

At PreciseTarget, Matt is building the editorial operation that anchors the company's platform for digital publishers. He works closely with engineering, product and business teams to bring newsroom-grade standards to a new generation of publishing tools, guided by a few core principles:
